Mummy Mantra #111 July 2018
Mantras are a great way to stop negative thinking, uplift your mood, make you feel more confident, patient, mindful and if used effectively (along with other meditative techniques) can have a very calming influence on the way you parent.
Here’s one of the mantras I used during the newborn phase.
Mummy Mantra # 1 ~ Stop Craving ~
One of the truths of buddhism is that all suffering is caused by craving. And think of all the things you crave when you’re in the trenches with a newborn. Showers, a hot cup of coffee, sleep, sleep, sleeeeeeeeeeeeep! But this constant craving deprives us of contentment, mindfulness and happiness. So.. stop it. Stop Craving. Try to be in the moment.
And perhaps buy some extra deodorant and start drinking iced coffees.
